Jul 01 - Local Man Pleads Guilty To Burglary Charges
On the morning of Monday 29th June 2015, a local man, Francis Mercieca of Constitution House, Glacis Estate, unemployed, was arrested by officers of the RGP Criminal Investigations Department on suspicion of Burglary at two local commercial premises.
Whilst at Police HQ, he was further arrested on suspicion of a further offence of Burglary. Mercieca was interviewed under caution in relation to these offences whereby he admitted his culpability in relation to all three Burglaries.
He was subsequently charged with three counts of Burglary and appeared before the Magistrates’ Court yesterday morning where he entered a ‘Guilty’ plea in connection with all three charges against him. He was remanded into the custody of HM Prison pending the submission of a pre- sentence report.
