Jul 14 - Commissioner Attends London Conference

RGP Commissioner Eddie Yome attended the Overseas Territories Commissioners of Police Conference held in London, last week.

The Conference touched upon a wide range of subjects of value and interest to all participants and included issues such as Firearms, Offender Management, Child Safeguarding and Financial Investigations among others.

The Conference provides Overseas Territories with an excellent opportunity to share information and experience on a series of topics of mutual interest and fosters the establishment and expansion of both existing and new working partnerships between member states.

By way of example Commissioner Yome has been asked to assist the Commissioner of Turks and Caicos with his Maritime Portfolio in relation to investigation of crimes on board British registered ships and will also be assisting the Commissioner of Bermuda in matters concerning Child Safeguarding.

It is evident that the RGP has a high standard in most policing business areas and this is reflected by recent requests for support from other territories.
