Jul 20 - Local Woman On Trial Accused Of Theft

A 27-year-old local woman accused of stealing various items of gold jewellery, including a signet ring and a gold crucifix, will be standing trial at the Supreme Court.

Leila Moudden was charged with three counts of theft in an incident dating back to February and March 2011, to which she has pleaded not guilty.

Chris Pitto assisted by Grace Lima appeared for the defendant, and Johann Fernandez appeared for the Crown.

The trial is set to continue until tomorrow.
