Apr 01 - Dates Announced For This Year’s Gibunco Gibraltar International Literary Festival
The Government has announced that the fourth edition of the Gibunco Gibraltar International Literary Festival will run from 20th to 23rd October 2016. The Government says that the success of the previous three years “is very encouraging and the Gibraltar Tourist Board looks forward to an equally exciting festival in 2016.”
Minister for Tourism, Samantha Sacramento, said: “The literary festival is an example of our events led tourism strategy, which has demonstrated our capacity to organise quality international events which have placed Gibraltar on the map. We want to build up on the success of the previous editions and deliver another prestigious festival packed with leading authors and celebrities. We look forward to another great edition.”
The Gibraltar Tourist Board (GTB) is already in discussions with headline speakers and will be in a positon to make an announcement in the coming weeks. Organisers say the festival is honoured that HRH the Princess Royal has agreed to be the Patron of the festival.
The GTB has expressed its gratitude to the principal and founder sponsors for their support and says it looks forward to once again organising an event that has become a highlight of the local cultural calendar. As in previous years, the GTB is offering sponsorship opportunities for companies, organisations or individuals to be a part of this magnificent event and would be pleased to receive applications.
