Apr 06 - James Foot Exhibition Opens In Casemates

Yesterday evening saw the opening of a new exhibition by the artist James Foot.

The watercolours on display are mainly recent works and depict the play of light and shade in Gibraltar’s old town. There are also some paintings of Greece where James lives.

A number of works focus on the Garrison Library and one of the highlights of the exhibition is a stunning painting which takes in the entire Upper Town, Moorish Castle and Upper Rock.

Speaking at yesterday’s event at the Fine Arts Gallery, Minister Dr John Cortes said: “You reflect not just what you see but what it feels like to be in Gibraltar. You’ve really captured the essence of Gibraltar.”

The exhibition runs from 6th-21st April (11am-7pm, Monday to Friday) at the Fine Arts Gallery in Casemates.
