Aug 02 - Katrina To Headline At The Family Pavilion
Stage One has announced the entertainment programme for the Family Pavilion at this year’s Gibraltar Fair. Once again it includes an international and a local headliner together with a great selection throughout the week for all the family.
Eurovision Winner Katrina (ex Katrina & the Waves) who won the contest in 1997 with ‘Love Shine a Light’ and had a massive hit with ‘Walking on Sunshine’ in the 80s, a song that continues to have radio play across the world today and is known as one of the most loved summer and feel-good songs, will perform on Tuesday 23rd August.
A spokesman said: “We had a great night with The Real Thing last year and the Pavilion was packed – we are sure people will again turn up in huge numbers to watch Katrina on stage who has a great set prepared for Gibraltar”.
Katrina Leskanich who split from the Waves in 1999 went on to have a successful TV and Radio career and in 2015 recorded her first solo album in 10 years. She is a regular at international 80s festivals and continues to tour successfully. Her performance in Gibraltar will follow a tour of Sweden.
The programme (see below) also includes local headliners The Soulmates who will be in concert on the Friday night and Frontiers who will perform two sets: one during evening meals and another later on in the evening.
The popular Showtime event which attracts young people of all ages is back on the first weekend of the fair and a tribute to the songs of Il Divo, Michael Buble and more is also on the line-up.
Entry to the pavilion is free every night. A limited pre-booking dinner system will operate for some of the events with details on buytickets.gi and on the Family Pavilion page on Facebook soon.

Stage One said: “Our team is working hard to put together a fantastic experience for the nine nights of the fair. We are moving venue to the Naval Ground and working with the SDGG closely to make sure we can deliver the best to our community”.
A full bar service, including a brand new Gin Bar section and revamped kitchen service with further improved menu will be on offer. Stage One says the menu this year is based on popular trends and surveys from 2015 when they fully took over the running of this service.
The Family Pavilion opens on Saturday 20th August and runs until Sunday 28th August which is the final night of the fair when there will be a selection of offers on food and drinks.
