Aug 16 - Tomorrow At Catalan Bay: Third Evening Beach Market Extravaganza
The third and final evening beach market extravaganza of the summer will be held tomorrow Wednesday, August 17, at Catalan Bay, as from 5pm.
On this occasion, the Caleta Hotel will be organising an informal junior chess competition to promote their International Chess Tournament.
As usual, there will be numerous market stalls selling art and craft items, jewellery, beach wear, painted stones and photographs. Food stalls will also be available.
A social media ‘Like and Share’ competition with the chance to win a £50 food voucher will also be held. The winner will be announced today.
Other exciting events are also planned including live music and dance group performances. The GBC Radio Gibraltar roadshow will be on air until 7pm.
The programme of events is as follows:
Zumba by Shyanne Azopardi - 7pm to 7.30pm
Dance Routine - 7.30pm to 8pm
Music by Ethan Rocca - 8pm to 9pm
Illusionist - 9pm to 9.30pm
Music by Frontiers - 9.30pm to 11.30pm
The first extravaganza held at Camp Bay in July proved highly popular with young and old alike, and once again, the Gibraltar Tourist Board is organising the event in conjunction with the Ministry for Culture.
Minister for Tourism, Samantha Sacramento, said: “The third and final Evening Beach Market extravaganza takes place, this time at Catalan Bay, and promises to be another exciting day of outdoor entertainment.
“We have lined up new attractions which, we are sure, will prove just as popular as on previous occasions and we expect a great afternoon of family fun. We look forward to seeing many Gibraltarians enjoying a summer evening with a difference at Catalan Bay.”
