Sep 20 - Three Kings’ Cavalcade Celebrates 60th Anniversary
The Three Kings’ Cavalcade is the first event in Gibraltar’s social calendar after the New Year’s festivities, and is enjoyed by young and adults alike. The organisation for this is naturally carried out months in advance and therefore the Committee is already in the process of organising the next Cavalcade which will take place on Thursday 5th January 2017.
The Cavalcade, which is now in its 60th edition, proves to be a very popular event in the cultural calendar and the 2017 Cavalcade will be an extra special one. The Committee says it would like an increase in the number of entries compared to last year. The Committee says that several organisations have already signified their intent to participate in 2017, but “much greater participation would enhance the event.”
A statement continued: “Needless to say in this respect the Committee is grateful to all those who participate and ultimately without many of these “Old Faithfull” organisations the excellent spirit of the Cavalcade would not be in evidence.
“The Organising Committee therefore urges Sports and Social Clubs, Dance Clubs, Associations and Organisations, Housing Estates, Schools, Companies or even groups of friends to participate and make this another memorable Cavalcade, both for those thousands who line Main Street as well as for those who participate. The Cavalcade Committee call on the community at large to make this cavalcade a memorable 60th Anniversary!”
