Oct 07 - Gibraltar - Berlin Artist Exchange Residency Exhibition
The Gibraltar-Berlin Artist Exchange Residency Exhibition, organised by Gibraltar Cultural Services on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, is currently being held at the Gustavo Bacarisas Gallery for two days only.
This exhibition is the result of the Artist in Residence exchange programme that was launched by the Ministry earlier this year. As part of this programme, Berlin-based artist Max Sudhues was chosen to come to Gibraltar to carry out an art residency. His visit followed local artist Alan Perez’s art residency at Lichtenberg Studios in Berlin last July. The exhibition showcases the works of both artists.
Sudhues and Perez have created pieces that have been inspired and influenced by their impressions and perceptions of their time spent in Gibraltar and Berlin respectively. The artists’ innovative site-specific works are unique multi-media artworks which will delight visitors of all ages.
The Minister for Culture, Steven Linares, officially opened the Exhibition yesterday evening. The exhibition is now open to the public for two days only until 8th October between 9:30am to 7:30pm. Entrance is free.
