Dec 21 - Poetry Book Signing At Sacarello’s Today
Giordano Durante will be selling and signing copies of his debut collection of poems today as from 10am at Sacarello’s Coffee Shop in Irish Town.
‘West’, which brings together 42 poems written in the last year and a half, was launched last week by the local journalist at an event which included readings and discussion.
The book was recently reviewed by Mark Montegriffo for YGTV.
Montegriffo described the collection as embracing “the simple pleasures of life by finding beauty in comfort, indulgence and nostalgia.”
Conchita Triay, writing in the Gibraltar Chronicle, praised the author’s “…rich use of language and his penetrating, pithy observations of human behaviour.”
She added: “His control of form and the pace of his lines, are also impressive, every word seeming to belong exactly where it is placed.”
Giordano is inviting anyone who is interested in this book to come to Sacarello’s today to discuss the poems and find out more about their themes and influences.
