Oct 23 - The Escape Artist: A Gibraltarian Novel – Book Signing This Afternoon
Gibraltarian writer M. G. Sanchez is currently in Gibraltar to launch his latest novel. Entitled The Escape Artist, the book is set in the decade between 1970 and 1980 and features a plot that shifts backwards and forwards between Cambridge in the UK, Venice and Gibraltar.
Professor John A. Stotesbury, one of the speakers at the forthcoming Gibraltar International Literary Festival, has already described the book as “fascinating and highly readable.” Other plaudits have come from Dr Esterino Adami of the University of Turin, who has praised how the author “brings to the fore a strong sense of Gibraltarian identity”, and from Emigdi Subirats i Sebastià, one of Catalonia’s most notable men-of-letters.
The author will be signing copies of the novel today between 5 and 7 pm at My Wines on Chatham Counterguard. Everybody is welcome to attend.
