Oct 29 - Gibraltar Hosts First Comedy Festival Dubbed 'Comedy Rocks'

comedy rocksProduced by the Gibraltar Entertainment Network, Comedy Rocks will bring together three UK acts over two nights at the John Mackintosh Hall Theatre, with performances starting at 8pm. London Musical comedy cabaret double act ‘Frisky & Mannish’ will take to the stage on Friday 8th November with their style of parody consisting of ‘shrewdly crafted, expertly delivered and rapturously received observations on pop music’.

Also appearing on Friday will be, Abandoman, ‘with their unparalleled freestyle talent and razor-sharp wit. The Irish improvising hip-hop duo, led by Rob Broderick, won the 2010 Hackney Empire New Act Competition and the 2010 Musical Comedy Awards.  Broderick in particular was described by Chortle as "an engaging frontman and an incredibly quick and skilful improviser”’.  Abandoman will also feature on Saturday 9th November.

The final act will be Ian D Montfort who proved a huge hit at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The character is played by the award winning Tom Binns who was voted a Fosters Comedy God in 2010 and was nominated for a Chortle Comedy Award in 2011.
