Apr 10 - John Newman Heads to the Rock for GMF 2014
Amidst a buzz of impending Summer excitement, the Gibraltar Music Festival organisers today announced a host of acts to perform in September’s 12 hour music extravaganza. Among this bill is relatively newcomer to the scene, but already beloved John Newman who has found fame with his songs ‘Love me Again’, ‘Losing Sleep’ and ‘Cheating’. He has also leant his vocals to a couple of Dance music giants, featuring in the Summer 2012 anthem ‘Feel the Love’ by Rudimental.
Next on this list is Roger Hodgson who will headline the Radio Gibraltar stage. Rodger Hodgson is regarded as one of the most gifted voices and songwriters of his generation and found fame with his former band Supertramp. Hits include ‘Dreamer’, ‘The Logical Song’ and ‘Breakfast in America’.
Another star to head the main stage is Spandau Ballet’s Tony Hadley. The Eighties band shot to fame with their hits ‘True’ and ‘Gold’ subsequently going on to achieve a number of top ten singles and albums in the 1980’s.
Local acts at this year’s event will include Georgia Thursting, who has made a name for herself travelling the UK festival scene with her entrancing vocals, and Adrian Pisarello & The EC Band, who are renown on the local music scene. Adrian is a remarkable frontman and always brings a enigmatic performance to all his shows.
More announcements are set for the coming weeks. VIP and reserved seating tickets for the Gibraltar Music Festival are currently on sale at Music Corner, Vijay and the Ministry of Culture. Children under 12 will be allowed free entrance into the venue.
