Dec 04 - Ocean Village Celebrates Christmas Lighting
Santa arrived in style at Ocean Village, Gibraltar this week. His trusty elf, Gloria announced Santa with a ringing bell and Disney’s Mickey and Minnie, accompanied him parading the length of The Promenade whilst throwing sweets to the children.
Santa lit up the 4 metre Christmas trees and lights as the Governor’s Meadow School Choir sang a selection of favourite Christmas carols.
Elf Gloria thanked the sponsors, Ocean Village Express, O’Reilly’s, Morrisons and Allied Traders and wished everyone a happy Christmas. Childline volunteers were on hand selling their Christmas raffle tickets with great prizes including Ipad Minis, hampers and vouchers. The draw will take place at O’Reilly’s in Ocean Village on Monday 22nd December.
After the lights switch on Santa met with the children, who were all given a special present.
Inside the grotto, children and parents alike were greeted with complimentary pizza and tapas from Pizza Express and Taps Bar. O’Reilly’s were on hand with mulled wine, hot chocolate and chocolate yule log, with a contribution of their profits to GBC Open Day.
All proceeds from the Santa’s Grotto will be donated to Childline.
Mulled wine, hot chocolate, Christmas menus and other festive delights will be available in Ocean Village throughout December and a special event is planned for GBC Open Day.
