Feb 20 - Drama Festival 2015 Line Up Revealed

news The 2015 Gibraltar Drama Festival will feature 12 productions to be performed between Monday 23rd and Saturday 28th March 2015. The first night with feature two original dramas by Julian Felice. ‘To Touch the Face of God’ and ‘Utrecht’ will be performed by the Bayside and Westside Drama Group at Bayside Comprehensive School.

Tuesday 24th March will see Santos Productions academy present ‘Meet the Twits; a non-competitive entry by infant players that is an adaptation of Roald Dahl, by David Wood. That evening Santos Productions academy will also perform ‘Body Talk’, by Andy Rashleigh. Finally, the Ince’s Hall will see BUDS present an original play by Jackie Villa and the St. Anne’s Middle School pupils called ‘Time Travellers’.

Wednesday evening will see the Trafalgar Theatre Group present ‘Shoot/ Get Treasure Part 1’ an adult drama by Mark Ravenhill as part 2 of the play later in the evening. Thursday, the Ince’s Hall will see Rock Theatre present ‘Return Journey’ by Dylan Thomas, then the UK’s Medway Little Theatre will perform Bob Cooke’s ‘Yorrick’. Finally that evening Rock Theatre will present ‘All’s Well That Ends As You Like It’, a coarse comedy by Michael Green.

On Friday evening the Ince’s Hall Theatre will play host to Christian Santos’ ‘Who Cares’ to be performed by Santos Productions Academy. Then Hamdram Theatre Company from the UK will perform ‘Ringside’, a comedy by Bob Cooke.

Finally, Saturday will see the annual Gala Night, held at the Ince’s Hall. Three final plays will be presented, under selection of the adjudicator. Following this awards will be handed out by Minister Steven Linares.

Tickets range from £5 for specific performances, £10 for the Gala Night and £25 for a Season Ticket. Tickets will go on sale as from Monday 2nd March between 9:30am and 4:30pm. More information can be obtained from the Gibraltar Cultural Services on 20067236.
