May 20 – Comedy, Music And Family Theatre At The GIB Fringe Festival

A weekend full of comedy, music and family theatre at The GIB Fringe Festival 2015 which is being held at the Alameda Open Air Theatre starting on Friday.

This year’s festival will feature well-known comedians for the first time, such as Scott Capurro – who plays Aunt Jack in Mrs Doubtfire, as well as Andrew Doyle. Local musician Paddy Taylor, The Bloody Lovelies, and DREAM – a story about a man whose musical wishes come true, form part of the line up for the next two days.

This is the third time Schirin Boudny is presenting The GIB Fringe Festival, together with the Ministry of Culture, and she is excited about this year’s event.

The aim for this year’s show is to bring higher quality artists to Gibraltar’s audience, who they wouldn’t necessarily have the opportunity to see otherwise. She adds: “The whole weekend is just a great idea, and there’s something there for everyone.

“The comedy acts on Friday night are great – this is the first time we’ve done comedy in Gibraltar but both Scott and Andrew are well known on the comedy circuit and sell out at Edinburgh Fringe every year.

“Saturday night will be a great night out for anyone who comes along – both music acts are really good and fun.  Last year the audience got up and danced along to music, and it’s just a perfect night out in such a beautiful setting.

“Sunday is a great day out for families, and DREAMS will be loved by people of all ages. There will be face painting after the show and great fun for anyone who comes along.”

The bar will be open and there will be drinks and nibbles to purchase.

Tickets can be bought for one act on the night or a combination for both. For more details on tickets and further information visit www.gibfringe.com. Tickets will also be sold at the door.
