Jun 08 – ‘This Side Up’ Tour To End In Gibraltar

This Side Up have announced a ‘Home to Home’ tour that will see them perform in London, Manchester, Liverpool, Durham and Gibraltar. The group continues to build their fan base from Manchester where they are now based whilst the boys continue in university.

The short tour starts on Thursday 18th June in London at The Water Rats in Kings Cross (where Bob Dylan performed his first UK gig in 1962). Acts such as Katy Perry have also performed at this venue to  international acclaim.

To end this series of special gigs, This Side Up has chosen their hometown of Gibraltar.  Lead singer Simon Dumas said: “This is going to be special.  Not only are we finishing our tour in Gibraltar, but it also marks the start of our summer holiday back home after eight months in the UK, so as you can imagine the excitement is definitely kicking in."

He added: "We promise to put on a show that you won't forget, including all your TSU favourites like Seven Seas, Delilah, Universe and also new songs which we are confident will have you on your feet dancing and most importantly, singing along!"

The Gibraltar concert is promoted by Stage One and sponsored by Foster’s and Saccone and Speed without whom the event wouldn’t be possible.

The family-friendly concert will be staged early evening, with doors opening at 7.30pm.  Given the young fan base that the group also attracts locally it’s expected that this concert will finish around 10pm, allowing for people or all ages to support this special event.

The support act will be another talented local band - Headwires.

The concert takes place at Boyd’s.  Tickets £5 are on sale at MH Bland Travel, Clositer Building, Irish Town.  Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.
