Aug 25 - Mabelle Imossi Wins “Our Gibraltar” Photographic Competition
Mabelle Imossi took the first prize in the “Our Gibraltar” photographic competition organised by the Gibraltar Photographic Society with her stunning shot of dolphins swimming next to a large container ship.
The Minister for Culture, Steven Linares, said that the overall quality of the entries was very high and that many of them had captured unique angles to the extent that, in some photos, the scene portrayed didn’t even look like the Gibraltar we are familiar with.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Gibraltar Photographic Society and this event was its first ever open competiton.
The winners were as follows (pics below also follow this order):
First Prize (£300 and trophy): “Dolphin Playground” – Mabelle Imossi
Second (£200 and trophy): “City of Gibraltar Emblem” – Gerry Fagan
Third (£100 and trophy): “Our Colours” – Michael Francis Reyes
Fourth (£60 and trophy): “Castle Street” – Simon Ede
Fifth (£40 and trophy): “Innocence” – Aneta Bray (absent, not in photo above)
