In a move that has come as a surprise to the local community, the Bishop of Gibraltar, Ralph Heskett, has announced that he will be accepting an offer from Pope Francis to take up the post of Bishop of Hallam following the resignation of Bishop John Rawsthorne. Bishop Rawsthorne resigned after he reached the age limit.
A six lane queue has started forming at the frontier with cars estimated to be taking 1 hour 15 minutes to cross. The children of the Alameda Gardening Club have been working very hard this year to produce a wide variety of planting projects for everyone to see and enjoy whilst visiting the Gibraltar Botanic Gardens. As well as the decorative theme bed, which will be officially opened on Tuesday June 3rd, they have planted 2 further beds at the top of the gardens, near the Alameda Wildlife Park.
