Being elected to Parliament on 27 November 2015 was a great honour and privilege. I wish to thank all those, all 4784, who entrusted me with their vote and who have given me the opportunity to serve our community as a front line opposition member in this House.
Mr Speaker, I have the honour to present my third Budget address in relation to the areas that form part of my ministerial responsibilities, in what is our Government’s fifth Budget since the General Election of December 2011, and first since last year’s election.
The Chamber of Commerce has said that, given the outcome of the recent EU referendum, it agrees with the Government on the need for caution with regards to future spending plans.
Little English is the brainchild of local language lover Sophie Clifton-Tucker and her partner Christopher Hedley. After travelling the globe and teaching in Oxford, Australia, New Zealand and Japan, a seed of an idea was sown in their minds to bring all the best elements of each school back home to Gibraltar.
Mr Speaker, following our election victory in November 2016, I continued to have responsibility for Education, Justice and International Exchange of Information. Indeed, I have had responsibility for Education and Justice since we were first elected into office in December 2011.
