The GSD has replied to the explanation offered by the Chief Minister regarding his apparent support for an anti-LNG bunkering page on Facebook. A statement from the party reads as follows:
The Government says it is delighted to announce that the Republic of Latvia has now confirmed in writing that Gibraltar is no longer on its tax haven blacklist with effect from 1st November 2014. This follows ongoing representations made by Gibraltar’s Ministry of Financial Services to the Ministry of Finance in Latvia.
The Government says it is continuing with its next phase of refurbishment plans for housing estates. Works will soon commence on New Police Barracks (Willis’ Road) as part of the Government’s Upper Town Urban Regeneration Programme. The refurbishment will include the installation of lifts, the external insulation of the façades, the replacement of the existing windows with new double-glazed windows, and the construction of a new mono-pitch roof.
