During the recent Regional Bunker Forum held in Gibraltar by the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA), the Gibraltar Port Authority (GPA) took advantage of the wider activities surrounding this event to enhance and further develop its expertise. A session of the IBIA ‘Basic Bunkering Course’ was held onboard the Sunborn on the day preceding the Bunker Forum, and a number of GPA staff attended. The course covered the bunker supply chain, from the initial identification of a requirement for bunkers, to the purchase and delivery processes, verification, quality assurance, and potential pitfalls all the way to how to handle a claim.
easyJet, Europe’s leading airline, yesterday launched services from Gibraltar to Bristol.
The new route, which operates three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, is a year round service and provides the first regular scheduled direct service between Gibraltar and Bristol.
A 21-gun salute will be fired at 1200 hrs at Grand Battery House tomorrow. The gun salute marks the celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s 89th birthday.

The Queen’s Birthday Garden Party will be held in the Convent on the evening of Thursday 11th June. As was the case last year, a number of invitations will be reserved for members of the public who have not previously had an opportunity to attend a Garden Party at the Convent.
