Sep 15 - Deputy Chief Minister Briefs Students On Brussels Visit
The Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia this afternoon briefed a group of students who will shortly be leaving for a visit to the EU institutions in Brussels.
The visit is organised by the Gibraltar in Europe Group with the support of the Office of the Deputy Chief Minister and Gibraltar House in Brussels.
The students were selected following an essay competition.
Dr Garcia briefed the students on a number of issues affecting Gibraltar in the European Union, including aviation, the border and the waters dispute.
Commenting on the visit, the Deputy Chief Minister said: “The Government is delighted that another group of students is going to Brussels this year in order to learn what Europe is all about. They will be meeting different MEPs and parliamentary groups as part of their programme. I am sure that it will be a very useful and educational learning experience for them.”
