Sep 28 – Farewell Sir James
The outgoing Governor Sir James Dutton and his wife Lady Dutton left Gibraltar this morning.
After a brief ceremony at the Convent, the couple visited the Parliament lobby where they bid farewell to local MPs and the Speaker Adolfo Canepa. Sir James then spoke to some members of the public that had gathered in John Mackintosh Square and then greeted dignitaries outside City Hall.
Sir James and his wife left the Rock on HMC Seeker, a UK Border Agency cutter, after a ceremony at the Naval Base which was followed by a gun salute.
