Mar 07 - Minister For Sport Congratulates Taekwondo Girls

The Minister for Sport, Steven Linares, has congratulated both Megan Ruiz and Macy Cornelio for their performances in the recent British Taekwondo International Poomsae Championships, held at the K2 Arena in Crawley.

Minister Linares said: “It is gratifying to see that in an event with the participation of Commonwealth, European and World medalists our girls narrowly missed out on a place in the semi-finals in the individual events.

"However, special mention must be made of Macy Cornelio’s performances in the Class U14 Dan Pairs and Teams synchronized categories, where she won two Bronze medals. An excellent achievement for an athlete who no doubt will have a great future in this sport.”
