May 19 - GSD Issues List Of Questions For Albert Isola To Answer In Interest Of “Openness And Transparency”

The GSD has released a set of questions it feels the Minister for Financial Services and Gaming, Albert Isola, should answer. The party says that the Government “have not been open and transparent in respect of the failure by Minister Albert Isola to declare his part ownership of Artnell Associates Ltd, a Bahamian company, in his MP’s Declaration of Interest.”

A statement continued:

“For openness and transparency to start to show, Minister Isola should answer the following questions:

“Is he a beneficial owner of shares in that Bahamian company, as is revealed in the “Panama Papers”?

“If he is a beneficial owner of that Bahamian company, will he disclose that ownership in his Declaration of Members Interest as he has still failed to do?

“If he is not a beneficial owner of that Bahamian company as the public have been led to believe by his assertion that it is part of the Fiduciary Group, will he publish evidence showing that the Panama Papers are wrong? Otherwise, his current Declaration of Interest is erroneous.

“If that Bahamian company acted as director of other companies, as has been said in defence of Minister Isola, is it licensed (1) in the Bahamas to provide this service and did he receive (directly or indirectly) any financial benefit from it during his time as a Government Minister?

“It is incumbent upon Minister Isola and the Government to be fully open and transparent, as was promised by the GSLP/Liberals in their recent election manifesto.”
