May 23 - Chief Minister Sets Off For Brussels Visit

The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, leaves Gibraltar today for a two day visit to Brussels where he will hold various meetings with Members of the European Parliament and senior officials at the European Commission.

The visit comes at a crucial time with Britain’s EU Referendum only a month away. The President of the European Commission, Mr Jean-Claude Juncker has sent his best wishes to the Chief Minister for a successful trip to Brussels.

Mr Picardo will be accompanied on the visit by the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Joseph Garcia, who is the Minister for Europe. Dr Garcia will travel to Brussels via London where he will address a distinguished audience at the National Liberal Club on Monday evening.

In the absence of Mr Picardo and Dr Garcia, the Acting Chief Minister will be Samantha Sacramento.
