Jun 23 - Feetham: “I Feel Very Optimistic”
The Leader of the Opposition, Daniel Feetham, spoke to YGTV after casting his EU referendum vote at the Plater Youth Club earlier his morning. Mr Feetham said his spirits were “high.”
“I feel very optimistic – the arguments put forward by the Remain camp have been very strong especially on the economy. The Leave camp just didn’t have any answers – even they were accepting that there might be uncertainty. If you can’t actually say to people that you guarantee that that stability is going to be provided, you’re taking a leap in the dark.”
Mr Feetham said that although Gibraltar was vulnerable, it was to be celebrated that Gibraltar had participated in this referendum and had managed to make its voice heard in the United Kingdom.
“I posted an appeal to urge people to think about Gibraltar when casting their vote. I wouldn’t say that Gibraltar’s participation is by any stretch of the imagination somehow worthless,” he concluded.
