Jun 23 - Hassan Nahon: Gibraltar Vote Is “Vital”

Independent MP Marlene Hassan Nahon has stressed the importance of today’s referendum.

“It’s hugely important for everyone to vote today, and it is even more important for Gibraltar than for the United Kingdom, in my view,” she said.

Ms Hassan Nahon, who voted at lunchtime at the Senior Citizens’ Club in Town Range, expanded on the significance of the local vote:

“Our reasons to stay are vital, and even though we may seem like a drop in the ocean in terms of figures, we are vitally important because we can swing it. Just one vote can swing it so Gibraltar can be the swing.”

She continued:  “As an independent MP, I am me and people who know me and connect with me will listen to my message as much as they would anyone else’s.

“I will keep shouting it out loud, on social media and to people and hopefully I can convince a few people and make them understand, if they don’t already because I’m sure they do, that we are much better off in the European Union.”
