Jan 23 - Government: Meeting With Clinton And Hassan Nahon “Unavoidably Delayed”
Number Six has said that, as a result of the Chief Minister's appearance before the House of Commons Select Committee on Exiting the European Union, the Government has had no alternative but to postpone the meetings with the GSD and Ms Marlene Hassan Nahon in respect of the £300m investment in Gibraltar.
The Chief Minister said: "I am very much looking forward to showing the GSD and separately Ms Hassan Nahon the relevant details of this investment in Gibraltar and what an excellent opportunity it has been for our Nation. I am disappointed that the meeting has had to be delayed, but we have had no alternative given the important arrangements which have been made for me to give evidence for Gibraltar before the House of Commons Select Committee on BREXIT and the European Parliament's Constitutional Affairs Committee. These are hugely important for Gibraltar at this time and must take precedence over the meeting with Mr Clinton and Ms Hassan Nahon, however much I may be looking forward to it!"
