Jul 30 - Daily Mail Says Spain Will Block Frontier Again
According to a recent report by the Daily Mail, Spanish diplomats have promised that Madrid will continue to cause lengthy border delays under the guise of an attempt to clamp down on smuggling.
The article says that this comes despite William Hague’s intervention this weekend which appears, so far, to have had some positive effect.
The report says that Spanish Foreign Secretary Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo gave permission for his diplomatic team to talk to journalists and repeat the message that “exhaustive checks” would continue to be carried out whenever necessary for security reasons.
