Aug 06 - Minor Operations List “Cleared By GHA Surgical Team”
The GHA has completed its minor operations initiative and has cleared the Minor Operations Waiting List.
Working over weekends since the beginning of the summer, the theatre team carried out 111 procedures on 92 patients out of 108 listed. Those who were not done declined the opportunity due to prior commitments or their being away from Gibraltar and these will be operated at a later date.
This is one of several initiatives aimed at improving the surgical service provided by the Gibraltar Health Authority.
Minister for Health, Dr John Cortes commented, "We are committed to improving the service and reducing the time patients have to wait for surgery. Some of the initiatives require more time than others to be completed, but this minor ops initiative is an excellent start."
