Aug 19 - Cameron Won’t Rule Out Taking ‘Further Action’ Against Spain
Answering further questions today about the ever-escalating dispute between Gibraltar and Spain, UK Prime Minister David Cameron refused to rule out taking further action against Spain, including putting constraints on Spanish tourists coming to Britain.
The Telegraph has today reported that Mr. Cameron’s spokesman noted that their preference is to resolve the matter via political means and through dialogue with the Spanish Government.
Mr. Cameron this weekend spoke with EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso about the frontier delays. He raised serious concern over the matter noting that the officiousness of what is going on is now so clearly directed politically ‘and it’s quite unfair because it’s being visited on innocent people that need to cross the frontier.’
