Sep 26 - New Chairman for Young GSD
The GSD’s youth group, Young GSD welcomed new chairman, 18 year old student Sumaya Acheddad, taking over from Jeremy Perez, who stood at the forefront of the GSD Youth before he went to study at University this year.
Sumaya has been an active member of the Young GSD, and was very involved in helping the party during the July By-Election. Sumaya will be instrumental in organising Young GSD participation in community events such as ‘Clean Up the World’ and charity events and has organised many Young GSD debates and interviews between MPs and young people.
Sumaya is the second women to stand at the head of the group and the first Gibraltarian, born and educated in Gibraltar, of a Moroccan family.
Commenting on her new position, Sumaya noted, ‘I am thrilled to be leading the Young GSD. I take over from Jeremy, who did an excellent job, and look forward to continue working together with the GSD, exploring new ways of engaging with the young people of Gibraltar.
