Oct 16 - New Housing Complex To Be Named After The Late Charles Bruzon

The Government has decided, in consultation with his family, that the housing complex for the elderly that will be built on Europort Avenue will be known as Charles Bruzon House.

The name of the building is in memory of the late Hon Charles Bruzon who served first as Shadow Minister for Housing and the Elderly and then from December 2011 as Government Minister for Housing and the Elderly until he sadly passed away. The needs of the persons on the Housing waiting list and those of the elderly were always close to his heart.

The complex will comprise 72 one-bedroom flats that have been designed with the requirements of the elderly in mind and which will be purpose-built for senior citizens.

The contract for the construction of these flats has been awarded by tender to Sacyr Construccion S.A.U. in the sum of £8,929,908.94.

The flats will be available for rental.

This project is in furtherance of a manifesto commitment to develop more flats for elderly people.
