Oct 28 - Unlawful Incursion Sparks Foreign Office Complaint
Following the unlawful incursion into British Gibraltar Territorial Waters on Friday of last week, by Spanish oceanographic survey vessel Emma Bardan accompanied by three Guardia Civil vessels Rio Tormes, Bernesga and Cedena, a Foreign Office Spokesperson insisted, ‘the survey and GC vessels were monitored throughout during both incidents and warned by Royal Navy Gibraltar Squadron’.
This followed a further incursion made by the by the vessel last Wednesday. The FCO spokesperson insisted that the incursions are a matter of deep concern. ‘The British government will be raising this incident at a high level with the Spanish government.’
