Nov 25 - Garcia In London At Overseas Territories Event

The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Joseph Garcia, is in London to attend meetings of the United Kingdom Overseas Territories Association (UKOTA) and the Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) which is made up of Ministers from the Territories and from the United Kingdom.

Dr Garcia is accompanied by the Chief Secretary, Ernest Gomez, and the Gibraltar Government's UK Representative, Albert Poggio.

It will be recalled that the last meeting of UK Overseas Territory leaders and representatives took place in Gibraltar around National Day in September.

A number of issues relevant to Gibraltar and the other Overseas Territories were discussed at the meeting of UKOTA in London this morning. This included political, constitutional and economic matters.

The meeting was followed by a lunch with Baroness Scotland.
