Dec 02 - Chief Minister and Mrs Picardo to attend diplomatic reception in London

Over the weekend, the Chief Minister and Mrs Picardo left for London where they will attend an Evening Reception at Buckingham Palace. This Reception is the main diplomatic social event of the year in London and reflects Her Majesty The Queen’s importance in the country’s diplomatic relations. It is the largest reception held at Buckingham Palace and takes place annually. Invitees include members of the British Cabinet, past Prime Ministers and other public figures.

During his visit to London, the Chief Minister will also meet with the Rt Hon David Lidington MP, Minister of State for Europe.

The Chief Minister and Mrs Picardo will return to Gibraltar on Wednesday.

During Mr Picardo’s absence, the Deputy Chief Minister, the Hon Dr Joseph Garcia, will act as Chief Minister.
