Jan 17 - Brussels Protest to Outline ‘Disproportionate Frontier Queues’

frontierFollowing a recent public protest, carried out by local and Spanish activists and Union leaders on the issue of unfair treatment and disproportionate queues at the frontier, a further demonstration is set to take place in Brussels next week.

These individuals will meet with a gamut of MEPs, including those representing Gibraltar to voice their concerns on the on-going issues. The Government has today stressed that he initiative is completely private and the administration has no involvement in the movement. A spokesperson explained that the Government had their own initiatives in Brussels, planned.

The group will hand over a presentation and petition to MEPs during their meetings. Before they leave, the public is being urged to sign the petition online or in the Piazza this coming Saturday. The petition is addressed directly to the Chairman of the Petitions Committee of the European Parliament and urges the Committee to investigate the frontier delays.
