Mar 06 - Top Tax Expert Joins GSD Executive
Following the restructure of the party, adoption of a new constitution by the party membership and election of its new executive, the GSD has announced the strengthening of an already strong executive by the inclusion of well-known and highly regarded local lawyer Chris White.
Chris White came to Gibraltar 20 years ago to assist in the revitalising of the Income Tax Office. He was de facto Commissioner of Income Tax for three years. When it was time to go back to the UK, he realised that he really wanted to stay here. Chris now works at Hassans, where he is regarded as one of the foremost tax experts in Gibraltar.
Commenting on the inclusion of Mr. White in the Executive, party Leader Daniel Feetham insisted that he brought a wealth of experience with him and his addition to the GSD Executive is part of a continuing process of building for the next election.
Mr. White noted that the stance of the present GSD administration has caused him to change his normally hidden political views.
Mr. White believes that Gibraltar ‘deserves better than a Government that is spending at a rate and in a manner that is neither sustainable nor accountable to Parliament and the people.’ As well as a Government that will not pander to a culture of entitlement by promising everything to everyone without any hope of keeping those promises or without regard to the consequences.
