Jun 19 - David Lidington to Visit Gibraltar - Claims UK Press
Reports in yesterday’s edition of the Daily Mail have suggested that UK Europe Minister David Lidington will be visiting Gibraltar within the next month in order to ‘discuss the problems’ Gibraltar continues to face, with Spain.
The report states that Minsiter Lidington is concerned by the impact that border delays are having in business in both Spain and Gibraltar. Responding to recent parliamentary questions, the Minister said that the Government has urged the European Commission to make follow up visits to monitor the continuing delays at the frontier.
A possible visit to Gibraltar by the Minister was suggested during a meeting of the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Select Committee that took place in Gibraltar, earlier this year. Responding to YGTV’s questions on the Minister’s visit, the Convent was unable to confirm it, currently.
