Nov 10 - Opposition “Intent On Doing What Is Best For Them And Not For Gibraltar” Says Government
The Opposition’s response to Ministers Isola’s Party Political Broadcast is yet another example of their negative scatter gun approach to politics which does such a disservice to our Community and which more and more people are disengaging from, says the Government. The Opposition seem to think, says Number Six, that by throwing insults and ill-thought criticism they may deflect from their own inability to be constructive and put Gibraltar first.
In their Press Release responding to Minister Isola’s broadcast, the Opposition failed to make any comment whatsoever, says the Government, on the OECD agreement on the exchange of information or on the “excellent report by the peer review group on our progress in this area.”
This omission is, says the Government, “incredible and it confirms the very point that Mr Isola made, namely that the sole interest of the Opposition is to comment on matters that they believe to be of political benefit to them and not what is best for Gibraltar.”
They are bent on doing what is best for them and not Gibraltar, as the entire business community will know from their total silence on the OECD report and the agreement signed by the Chief Minister, ended a statement.
