Dec 05 - GSD Concerned By Water Penetration Problems During Glacis Works
The GSD is concerned at reports it has received that indicate there has been significant water penetration at several homes in Glacis estate, homes which had not suffered such problems prior to the commencement of the refurbishment works.
The Opposition spokesman for housing, Edwin Reyes, commented: 'While the Government is undertaking a large number of projects one wonders what assurance is being provided that the works are being conducted safely and effectively. We have seen a spate of Health and Safety incidents at a number of sites, including one next to Governor's Meadow school, and now we find that residents of Glacis estate are being negatively affected by on-going works, works which in some instances have been going on for over two and a half years'.
Mr Reyes went on to ask Government to ensure that those affected by this problem are offered a solution as a matter of urgency.
