Dec 11 - Government Signs £77 Million Power Station Deal
Bouygues Energies & Services SAS today signed a contract with the Gibraltar Government for the building of Gibraltar’s new power station. The final price of the project is £77m, including the building and operation of the station.
An agreement for Operation and Management for the first 12 months of operation of the new power station has also been agreed at a price of £2m.
At the signing the Chief Minister insisted that they had come to a final agreement on all the issues that were outstanding following the award of the tender. He noted that the agreed upon costs were better value for money than they had anticipated, even at the time that they granted the tender.
