Mar 25 - No Proposals Received for Lathbury Barracks Site

In response to Opposition questioning the Government has insisted that it is taking account of the community’s best interest in seeking expressions of interest to convert Lathbury Barracks Parade Ground into an industrial park.

The administration adds that there have been no proposals submitted as of yet, with the Government having only just invited initial expressions of interest. No decisions have been made or ideas ruled out. They are adamant that the site will remain protected as a natural habitat.

A Government spokesperson commented, ‘it would be madness for the Government not to consider how to make the best use of such a large piece of flat land, an asset that is so valuable in Gibraltar.
