Jun 03 - GSD Co-Opts Robert Vasquez Into Executive
Robert Vasquez QC has joined the GSD’s Executive committee. On Monday 3rd June, Vasquez was co-opted into the Executive via unanimous decision, indicating that he has every intention to present himself as a candidate for the forthcoming general election.
Vasquez QC was Chairman of the Bar Council for three years and is no stranger to the local political scene, having always been well known for his independent and free thinking outlook.
The GSD says it is very excited by this latest appointment and says it considers it to be “of huge benefit to the wider community, not just the party, to be attracting free and independent thinkers to the political arena.”
Mr. Vasquez said: “I have joined GSD because it has values I believe in, principled and desiring good governance. I am entering politics to ensure open and transparent Government, something the GSLP have singularly failed to deliver, and which has been a huge disappointment to many. The GSD are prepared to progress transparency.”
