The GSD wishes to announce that it has appointed the following individuals to speak on behalf of the party in the following areas:
Robert Vasquez QC (former member of the FSC and former Chairman of the Bar): Democratic reform and all issues relating to Good Governance, Openness and Transparency
Roy Clinton (CEO of a private Bank and twice President of the Bankers Association): Public finances and banking
Elliott Phillips (Head of Litigation at a major law firm): Training, employment and rehabilitation of offenders
Marlene Hassan Nahon (GSD By-election candidate 2013): Health and Media
Trevor Hammond (Chairman of the GSD): Education, Environment and Planning
Louis Wink (Former Commissioner of Police): Transport, Traffic and Sport
Rafael Benzaquen (Senior Partner at Benzaquen & Co): Justice and Housing
Chris White (Former Commissioner of Income Tax and leading Tax Lawyer): Gaming and Tax reform
Nigel Feetham (Former member of the FSC and Leading Finance Centre lawyer): Financial Services
Kim Karnani (Relationship Councillor): Social Services
Members of Parliament will continue to have overall responsibility for their Shadow Portfolios and will work closely with each party spokesperson in their own field. The party says it will add to this list from now until Parliament is dissolved.
Marlene Hassan Nahon, who has been assigned as spokeswoman for Media said, “At the next election the GSD intend to present the people of Gibraltar with a strong alternative for Government. Each one of our spokesmen and women are experienced in their areas or have significant experience in politics”.
