Jun 22 - Minister Linares At Commonwealth Local Government Forum
The Minister for Sports, Culture, Heritage and Youth, Steven Linares, recently attended the 2015 Commonwealth Local Government Forum in Gaborone, Botswana hosted by the Botswana Ministry.
The conference, in its 20th year, was officially opened by Botswana’s President, Lieutenant General Sereste Khama Ian Khama and focused on priorities for local government’s post-2015 to play its full part in development including improving local governance and effectiveness, promoting sustainable local development, and strategies for inclusive, resilient and sustainable cities. The conference outcomes will include a roadmap for local government to help deliver development targets.
The Minister returned to Gibraltar on Saturday.
