Jul 17 - Government Says GSD Should Not Use Children To Cover Their Ignorance Of The Fishing Regulations

The Government has said the GSD can be assured that no children fishing with bread have been threatened with fines. Indeed, children under 14 do not need to have a fishing licence under the Regulations.

A spokesman for No6 said: "The GSD have totally lost the plot. They have chosen to use children as a soft cover for their ignorance of the regulations and have attacked the professionalism and common sense of a hard working team of Environmental Protection Officers without trying to get their facts right.

"On all other matters, the GSD should take heed of the statement by the GFSA, the relevant independent body."
