Jul 20 - Lloyd’s To Carry Out Full Health And Safety Report
In response to an issue raised in a GBC interview by the Leader of the Opposition, the Government says it can confirm that Lloyd’s Register have been engaged to carry out a full Health and Safety Report in addition to the scoping study on which they are currently engaged. The "scoping", says Number Six, is simply the work of setting the parameters for the job of adding an extra level of certification to the process which the Government has decided to add, to be provided by Lloyd’s Register.
The Government says that the only purpose of this additional safety report by Lloyd’s Register “is in order to demonstrate that the prestigious organisation which the GSD pretended had said that LNG could not be done in Gibraltar, will actually demonstrate the complete opposite!” Number Six says that other safety reports and analyses are already well advanced, in particular those by the UK Health and Safety Laboratory, a subsidiary of the Health and Safety Executive, which sets the strict standards for such operations to be done safely.
